Position Description

• Manages forecast tasks and processes and decision making for one or several highly complex categories.
• Develops, reviews and approves forecast plans. Reviews and makes recommendations on forecasts to ensure alignment between category and overall business strategies.
• Lead and manage communication with all internal stakeholders to meet goal and objectives
• Collaborates across apparel teams cross functionally to lead integration of costing as part of the product creation process
• Evaluation of design and manufacturing complexities:
• Establish net consumption of critical components
• Historical wastage allowances and analysis
• Considers commodity price fluctuations
• Standard labor, efficiency allowances, SMV establishment
• Determine pre-costing tools needed for successful integration of the costing process
• Identifies inconsistent product costs across suppliers and countries therefore unveiling cost savings opportunities and identifying ‘should be’ costs
• Supplier benchmarking (costing efficiency, labor, waste etc.) which identifies potential best-in-class suppliers
• Create a Category and Product level benchmark and understanding
• Drive shared approach with suppliers and factories to build costing platforms and transparency
• Tier 1 and 2 supplier analysis
• Link design elements to cost drivers
• Cost implications of order parameters
• Trains and supports sourcing teams in understanding cost drivers
• Supporting analysis on cost variances on products and providing solutions and taking corrective action
• Lead recommendations for future cost effective improvements
• Partners with internal QA, Technical, RM and manufacturing teams to provide detailed cost analysis and alternative options
• Ensures plans and proposals are data driven and considers the opportunities for driving open innovation, cost transparency, long term commitments, material leverage and value chain mapping
• Assume additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed

Minimum Qualifications

• Extensive cost engineering and negotiation experience
• Project Management
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to perform scenario planning analysis and articulate the impact of certain decisions
• Strong ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Ability to work cross functionally in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Detail orientated with strong verbal and written communication
• Deep apparel product manufacturing and supply chain knowledge from product concept to delivery
• Strategic leadership, planning and thinking skills
• Value chain mind-set
• Strong experience in assessing supplier capabilities
• Knowledge of private label development (preferred)
• Domestic and International travel required
