Position Description

• Source products and suppliers throughout the country according to established supplier matrix

• Identify sourcing and value unlock opportunities.

• Know and understand suppliers/factories and their capabilities, capacity and performance.

• Negotiate price based on an in-depth understanding of product and components.

• On boarding supplier to meet and follow company policies and requirements.

• Lead the sourcing project from starting to end & provide consultation to subordinates on sourcing activities.

• Assess suppliers and factories capacity and capability to meet retail market requirements

• Conduct supplier assessment and formulate supplier matrix for the category.

• Collect relevant data to formulate sourcing proposal

• Communicate regularly with customer facing team, buyer, PD, direct import dept on sourcing and order execution issues

• Execute buying trip from A-Z including pre-trip, itinerary set up, cost negotiation to finalization to ensure the trip objectives are fully achieved.

• Manage order execution and resolve product and production issues on a timely and proactive manner.

• Work with the Merchandise Quality Engineer and Responsible Sourcing team to ensure placements are made with right factories. Identify testing and production issues upfront and involve Quality Assurance teams to resolve.

• Monitor supplier performance to ensure it meets or exceeds company KPI.

• Resolve issues with Merchandise Quality Engineer such as problems with product specifications, purchase orders, safety failures, and supplier execution.

• Prepare Monthly Reports to keep sourcing manager well informed of status of all upcoming programs.

• Coordinate with replenishment team in daily operations • Coordinate and execute cross functional projects such as process improvement, system enhancement.

• Assume additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent command of English and local language. Good communication skills and presentation skills.

• Well organize, proactive with a sense of urgency

• Analytical mind, open mind

• Able to handle multiple tasks in organized manner.

• Good interpersonal skill, patience

• Take ownership, flexible and able to work under pressure

• Team player with ability to work with associates from different cultures.

• Knowledge of suppliers and factories. Able to evaluate supplier’s competence and capability.

• Have a deep understanding of the products and the commodities that index the product

• Able to manage multiple markets for on time shipments from concept to PO creation

• Able to identify creative alternative solutions to solve problems and meet product objectives in quality, delivery and price.

• Good negotiation skills in working with suppliers on product and price. Good experience in using component costing.

• Team player with ability to work with associates from different cultures.

• Strong ability to manage multiple projects and timelines and keep them on track.

• Excellent problem solving skills.

• Proficient PC skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

• Basic production and manufacturing knowledge.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Education University – 4-year degree/Bachelors in Business Unit specialty (ex. Garment textiles) or business
